My tip is:

Backup files you can't loose. Things you have made and files you have
collected.

If your Ubuntu Studio 14.04 is updated, you haven't done some deep deep
hacking, just installed some program. The upgrade should go smoothly.

If you want to check if it worth it, Install it in a VirtualBox.
If you think it's scary, want to check how the upgrade goes before you
do it for real. Install 14.04 in VirtualBox and upgrade it to 14.10.

Ask your self if all your “important! program are available in 14.10.

Only you can balance curiosity and safety net. When you take a risk, you
must have time solve it.

.........................................................................................
BUT IF............................

…..you are in the middle of a project and other people is counting on
you, and you only want to focus on the project. without any sysadmin
*hour. **DON'T

*If you are a newbie. *DON'T

*If you are a newbie and want learn. *Do it.

*Is it safe to drive a car?
