I would certainly take the opposite view. I use studio for just that. I value the space on my local hard disk for recording want as little on the machine that may reduce that or slow it down. Is there a compromise? Say a package extras as an option to include the more general software single pc owners.

I particularly object when I try to remove a package & Ubuntu insists on removing the entire windows manager.
