Upgraded to 13.04, now display can't set to 1680x1050

The same happened to me, I just had to update my nvidia drivers.
Go to 'software sources' and in the 'additional drivers' tab select the
driver.
I installed nvidia-310 (propietary-tested) it fixed my display.
Perhaps if after installing the driver it is not properly configured, run
these commands:
sudo nvidia-xconfig
sudo restart lightdm
and restart your pc.
