Today I have four Ubuntu (two stable versions and two Jaunty Alpha) in
my main computer, even LTSP (ltsp.org) works on KVM with Pulseaudio. To
me Delta 66 has always been real Plug 'n' Play soundcard - you remember
time when everything was Plug 'n' Pray...

There is very old (2002) howto for Delta 66:

http://www.nue.tu-berlin.de/wer/batke/Download/delta66howto.pdf

Today you just put this soundcard it in and it works. Let's do something
with that old howto. Do same in your computer.

1.

cat /proc/asound/cards - OK to me.

  0 [M66 ]: ICE1712 - M Audio Delta 66
                       M Audio Delta 66 at 0x1040, irq 22
  1 [U0x46d0x990 ]: USB-Audio - USB Device 0x46d:0x990
                       USB Device 0x46d:0x990 at usb-0000:00:1d.7-1.2,
high speed

#1 is webcam with built-in microphone.

2.

alsamixer -D hw:0 - OK to me.

3.

aplay *.wav - OK to me.

  mpg123 -w 01\ -\ Drive\ My\ Car.wav 01\ -\ Drive\ My\ Car.mp3

Comment: Genre :

Playing MPEG stream from 01 - Drive My Car.mp3 ...
MPEG 1.0 layer III, 128 kbit/s, 44100 Hz stereo

[2:30] Decoding of 01 - Drive My Car.mp3 finished.

aplay 01\ -\ Drive\ My\ Car.wav
Toistetaan WAVE '01 - Drive My Car.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian,
Taajuus 44100 Hz, Stereo

If you are OK in every three point, then I really do not understand why
you can't hear anything.

Best Regards Asmo Koskinen.
