I am in the same boat.  I have building kernels for years using
make-kpkg, but somehow the PPA way is not working for me.  I have not
had the time in the last couple of months to really sort it out.  I will
help out where I can.  In any even let me know how you make out.  I
sense a kernel team in the making :)
