Choice A:
Use Hardy
Choice B:
Build your own kernel (either from scratch or rebuild the 8.04 RT kernel
with 8.10).
Choice C:
Convince someone else to build a kernel for you.
Also, be aware that there are differences between the version of gcc
used to build kernels so there will likely be problems just using the
kernel from hardy.
Personally I would stick with 8.04. The real time troubles with
Intrepid were well known long before its release
FWIW, my 2 production boxes are running 64Studio and UbuntuStudio 8.04
respectively.
Having said all that, there does seem to be an RT kernel in the Universe
repository:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/intrepid/linux-image-2.6.27-3-rt
I have not used it so YMMV.
