Actually, Ubuntu does offer "restore points". If you use Synaptic Package
Manager, you can uninstall anything that you've installed, even
kernels. It actually works better than the Windows restore feature, IMO, because it works on packages (applications, etc) individually and not just a date like Windows. You can keep the things you like and revert the ones you don't.
