I am a big fan of my Acer Aspire One (intel Atom CPU). The only caveat
is that you should not think of it as a normal 1.6 Ghz machine. even
though it runs at 1.6Ghz, it has far less processing power than my 1.6
Ghz Turion. For doing Live recording or playing soundfonts via Midi it
is fine, where I run into trouble is with the live effects and synths
like Zyn... That is what I meant by managing your expectations.

In terms of performance this is really more like an 800Mhz PIII.

My Acer has 1.5 GB of Ram btw.

I should also note that I have not tested the RT kernel against the
Atom. I have had a few odd issues with the Atom that I expect will get
ironed out with successive kernel versions.
