Yeah, but....
The original problem had to do with the installation bombing. Shouldn't he
at least be able INSTALL the OS? I can understand that the a-v applications
will run like molasses, if at all.

I agree that there could have been more candy-coated responses; however, I
agree with that which they are saying - Ubuntu Studio is more than your
average Linux install; there are MUCHO resource requirements once installed;
and I'm afraid even if you did get it installed, they are also correct in
assuming there will be larger problems later. Your decision to move it up to
your "good" pc is a good one, imho.
