Hi there,
I have Intel mobo DQ965GF. I found that jackd have lots of xruns. I have
disabled audio on board and use only SB Live! (at home for midi). There
are some issues with e1000-driver (with irq's), but when I installed
packet named "irqbalance" and run it, all xruns blew away! e1000-driver
works fine, anyway - problem seems to be irq's and xruns.
So if you have brand new Intel mobo with dual core processor and run to
xruns, try "irqbalance". It helped me.

I use Alessio's realtime kernel and everything is now working just fine
with Ubuntu Studio. I use jack with this cmd (qjackctl):
/usr/bin/jackd -R -p128 -t2000 -dalsa -dhw:0 -r44100 -p128 -n2 -P
Best regards Asmo Koskinen.
