[ubuntu-studio-devel] open source AudioKit synth

Did everyone hear about Synth One for iPad (not to be confused with Synth1
by Daichi Lab)?

The rationale for this is...interesting. Many people have tablets but can't
afford to purchase any apps. Even if we accept that slightly iffy premise,
a free synth means you may need to buy an amp and a controller to do much
practical music-making.

Apparently there's hope for an auv3 version which should run on
Linux...eventually. A shame they didn't start with the Linux version.
Using the same name as an existing, well-regarded synth makes me wonder if
they even know anything other than iOS and Android exists?

I'd love to try it out, but space is short on my iPad. Here's hoping a
Linux-compatible version is forthcoming. If they want to help millions of
poor musicians, getting them onto Ubuntu Studio would be the bigger boon,
if you ask me. There are not a whole lot of free, open, state-of-the-art
synths in the Software Center.
