Is impossible to enable tooltip comments for the Xfce menu?

There's an Icon hdspmixer.png installed, but for the menu alsa-tools.xpm
is used for Oneiric, after installing alsa-tools-gui from the next
release.

Doesn't Mate provide the needed GTK2 libs?
