[Bug 961591] Re: Windows border graphics corrupted

I am still running gnome-shell 3.2.2.1-0ubuntu1 because extensions I
depend on (several from frippery and classic systray for temperature
monitor, volti, and cpufreq-applet) have not been ported over yet.

I have had to hold some packages, Mutter included, to mantain
compatability with this shell version until those extensions are ported
over, a job I don't know how to do myself. Has anyone identified the
packages that originally caused this problem?

I can stop the window border corruption by opening gnome-tweak-tool.
changing the GTK theme to anything, then changing it back, forcing the
theme to be re-read.

When the listed extensions are ported to GNOME 3.4, only then can I
update the shell.

  Windows border graphics corrupted

Status in “gnome-shell” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in “mutter” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Recent updates in precise have rendered the Windows borders to no
longer render properly. The buttons usually seem to work, but the
actual border graphics themselves are usually black with pixelated
edges or random colored lines depending on what window theme is being
