Okay, strange... It should really not pull in packagekit... Dropping
the Recommends is IMHO not a very good idea too, so I'll try to reach
pitti on IRC and ask why he removed the lines.
Than I'll report back.

Status in “packagekit” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Please sync packagekit 0.7.2-4 (main) from Debian testing (main)

  Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
  All Ubuntu changes have been applied to the Debian package too.
  The version from Debian includes some very important bugfixes which are missing in
  the Ubuntu version.

  Changelog entries since current precise version 0.7.2-2ubuntu3:

  packagekit (0.7.2-4) unstable; urgency=low

    * Don't ship transactions.db with PK package (Closes: #657831)
    * Add APTd PackageKit compat layer as alternative to the original daemon
    * Add Python APT backend again
    * Add language-support what-provides type
    * Don't crash if D-Bus is not available

  packagekit (0.7.2-3) unstable; urgency=low

    * Depend on GLib tools, so gdbus is available (Closes: #656559)
    * Fix warnings when running GSD with PackageKit enabled
    * aptcc: Don't hang on long transactions (LP: #905415)
