Is Ubuntu Still Participating in GSoC this Year?

Hello everyone,

I've been trying to find a mentor for a few ideas that I'd like to do 
for GSoC, but to no avail. Recently, I was asking in the #ubuntu-devel 
IRC channel and a couple of people mentioned that Ubuntu was not 
participating this year. I mentioned that Ubuntu was accepted, submitted 
an organization profile, that there is an ideas page populated with 
ideas and some mentors; nonetheless, the response was that Ubuntu 
decided to not participate after all that. This made me a little 
suspicious especially considering how quiet this mailing list has been 
compared to some other GSoC mailing lists. I know this was asked before 
but just to make sure since the student applications begin tomorrow: 
will Ubuntu be participating in GSoC 2009? Thank you all for your time.
