Hi,
CRC error is a checksum error, which indicates something serious has
gone wrong. You likely have hard drive corruption from force-restarting
your Ubuntu partition one to many times.
Can you boot into the recovery partition (through grub) and run fsck? If
not you will need to run fsck from a livecd which will run a filesystem
check and try to resolve the errors.
Worst Case scenario is that you need to reinstall (preferably with 9.04,
not an upgrade from 8.10), and restore all your data.
