Sorry if our workflow is a bit confusing, and thanks for the question.
I think I can clarify.
You've likely noticed these $DAY Triage Report emails each day. This is
part of a specific workflow we follow that looks at just bug reports
that changed the preceeding day (or weekend). This triage process also
only focuses on situations that require 1st-level attention, such as new
bugs, comments from new users, etc. It is intended to be a short and
quick look, and not attempt to fix the bugs or continue work on bugs
that someone else is already working on. It's more of just a "check the
inbox" and "check that things haven't fallen through the cracks".
One of the reasons we try to keep the workload of this small, is so that
time can be reserved to focus on items of priority - such as the
server-next queue you linked to, or distro maintenance work, or other
customer-driven tasks and projects.
