There seems to be some confusion about what is desired
with respect to updates or the desire that they not occur
by themselves, as opposed to "automatic updates".

It is currently broken, and I do not know how the serverguide
documentation should be corrected. i.e. I don't the difference
between broken and intentional changes.

Someone called dpb took the action to look into this a few weeks
ago, but I see that it just keeps getting carried over. (although
it seems to have received some traction in your meeting of a few minutes ago).

The longer this goes on, the more my original comments are getting distorted and watered down.

The issues include, but are not limited to:

. during install, if one selects "no automatic updates", it does them anyhow.
. Kernels get deleted without asking, even the second to last one.

I have managed to stop this on my main test server, but I have no
idea if I did it correctly.
