Bulk updating dozens of (not identical) servers

Hi,

thanks a lot for all the excellent suggestions. It's great to hear
from people with real world experience.

We have decided to divide and conquer: first stage, a short & simple
Python script, based on Fabric, to command the upgrades. It is so
simple that it is already done. Second stage: we'll start researching
Cfengine; from the documentation and your opinions it is readily
apparent that its advantages far outweigh its drawbacks. Configuration
management is almost too good to be true ;)
