Ok I'm running ubuntu 9.04 AMD with all default server settings with
KVM enabled. I go to boot up a ubuntu-8.04.2-server-amd64.iso and I
press f4 to install the minimum virtual machine option and it doesn't have it. Just the normal option. Is this expected? Attached is a screen shot.

Would the default install be the best option or should I press F4 and select minimum install or minimal virtual machine? I'm little confused by the term minimum virtual machine? is this for the operating system running as a KVM server or the option you should pick when you are installing the os within the virtual environment?

The minimal virtual machine installation is if you were to boot the
server cd *on* a virtual machine and needed to install an OS on it.

Depending on what else your server is doing, installing the least
possible number of services is always preferable in my opinion, so the
default install on the CD should be fine.
