Just replaced /etc/samba/smb.conf with /etc/samba/smb.conf.ucf-dist
This brings back the second instance in the workgroup and still has the same error when I try to log in.
>From Ubuntu, the workgroup has only one instance of this computer and I can log into it as well. However, I still see the shares that should have been deleted when I got rid of smb.conf. Where are they hiding? I think that there is some error being introduced with the settings for these shares.
Nautilus!
I just un-shared the shares in Nautilus. The shares disappeared. Ubuntu can still log in. However, Windows still sees two copies and can't log in. Same error
