There can be many many ways to achieve this, but one such concrete
proposal is to add additional HTTP headers in the HTML response to the
Eucalyptus Web UI that advertises the SOAP endpoints of S3 and EC2.

Those endpoints (or additional anonymously-accessible endpoint) can then
offer additional API calls to discover other configuration information.
