Public bug reported:

Upgrading from mysql-server-5.0 to mysql-server-5.1 doesn't work. First
install mysql-server-5.0. Then try to install mysql-server-5.1. There
are some file conflicts since mysql-server-5.1 doesn't replace mysql-
server-core-5.0.
