Evan - I see you confirmed Nicolas was also having the issue (although
this ticket was never changed to confirmed).  Have you tried the latest
version of Ubuntu (8.10 Intrepid)?  Are you still experiencing this
issue?

(There is an older ticket logged that seems to be similar, although it
has not be responded to, so I'm seeking more details.  I need to check
upstream to see if this has been reported.)
