gs -q -sDEVICE=tiffg3 -dNOPAUSE -dMaxStripSize=0 
-sOutputFile=print.fax.tif   print.ps </dev/null

(разместить в одной строке)

print.ps -- входной файл
print.fax.tif -- выходной, по идее годный для отправки на факс
