I put the executable check in case the user passes something not a script by accident. I would not want to change permissions on random files :)

Reboot to recovery is there to trigger the flashing not to make sure the device is in recovery mode before pushing the files no?

The tool should indeed check whether it is in recovery, right now it does not from what I see just looks for an adb connection, but that is a separate issue.

In the script case, if the flashing is successful we need to boot into system, not recovery and in that case it's best done by adding an adb reboot as the last command of the custom script.

As for bootstrap indeed this probably does not work, since that does another reboot. I have to think about bootstrap more.
