Bjoern is pretty positive the issue is not a libreoffice one but a 
fontconfig issue, he wrote

I need to catchup with Ken but when I went to bed yesterday the 
"shouldn't require a password for installation" work was still being 
discussed with the security team, that's the main item remaining on my 
list. I will do a followup here once I talked to Ken

Not at the moment, Alberto contacted nvidia about the issue and we are 
talking about reverting the update...
