What's up with Ubuntu's handling of bugs?

Another reason is I have been setting importance to confirmed bugs only, 
along all the packages in Ubuntu. In Launchpad bugs with priority set 
are listed before, so those are which are usually reviewed first.

It could happen that because the Long Term Support is now the 
recommended release for the average user, your bug reports in the 
regular release doesn't gather enough attention for somebody confirming 
them.

Probably this issue would go away if I just stick with Long Term Support 
releases. I have been considering that for a while, and what I see is 
that system components to stay invariable usually makes the operating 
system more reliable in nature, but also applications to stay fresh 
makes it more functional to use.

So I would ask which applications stays invariable and which get updated 
in the Long Term Support release, if somebody knows it.
