Subject: Reporting a bug - Unrecognized USB in raring laptop.
Hello QA,
Today, my friend came over and visited my house momentarily to edit a file
in his USB stick. I allowed him to use my Ubuntu raring laptop, and, not
being much of an Ubuntu user himself, he was a little confused of not
seeing the usb icon appear in nautilus.
A few seconds later, I came to the conclusion that my computer doesn't
recognize external memory. I tried it with my own USB stick, and it didn't
work. Running *lsblk* in the terminal too didn't reveal a USB.
I've been reading the Reporting Bugs wiki page on Ubuntu wiki to determine
the type of bug, but I'm still confused. What sort of bug involves
unrecognized hardware? Also, how can I identify the package or the source
of this problem, so I may report it?
After that, I noticed that when reporting bugs, the reporter might happen
to file a duplicate report. Since the report bug "search for titles" seems
inadequate, how can I search for a potentially duplicate report? I ask
this because a few times before, some reports may not include the key words
I put in, yet somehow, they describe my problem more specifically.
I would really like to report a bug the QA way. Thanks.
Sincerely,
John Kim
