connecting power users to their tools

It will be nice if power users have a trusted location to look up and find
tools that assist them. But they still will have to invest the time to find
and install those tools.
Ubuntu currently offers the option to install multi-media package during
install and with an internet connection downloads updates in the back
ground. The server edition allows the user to select packages to be
installed during installation. So, as we identify key tools such as Ubuntu
Tweak, perhaps Canonical could offer a back ground download/install option
for a few of these key tools. For those of us that just want our system to
work but still would like the power & tools to tweak, I think it would be
nice to simply request the tools during install.
Not sure how practical or desired it is by others, but just a thought I had.
