We talked about quicklists at UDS, here are the notes:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/desktop-o-default-apps-unity-integration

This one will be relatively straight forward. They're just
modification of .desktop files. Someone just basically needs to grab
the snippets of the static ones (don't worry about the dynamic ones
like for nautilus), and then file them as bugs to that upstream
project and ask for them to be included in the .desktop file upstream.

We purposely put a TargetEnvironment=Unity there so upstream projects
can ship the quicklists if unity is available (but it won't affect the
behavior of the app in other environments).

So if you really like the quicklists, the best thing to do is to get
them shipped in the distro.
