[Ubuntu-PH] ubuntu server, no desktop environment

Hi guys,

We have a PHP-based project that requires a LAMP environment to be set up.
An officemate have downloaded Ubuntu 6.0 LTS (dapper drake version) and did
the LAMP server installation option.
When we're through with the installation, it surprised us to discover that
the Ubuntu server seemed not to have a desktop environment (GNOME) with it
which is unlike the Ubuntu desktop version which
comes with one.

Is this right? Or, we just happened to missed on something or, at least,
still need to do the extra work of installing the desktop environment
separately?

My kind regards.
