[Ubuntu-PH] Re: Empowering Farmers and Fishermen: ubuntu-ph Digest, Vol 10, Issue 14

Hi All!

      Just to give my "two-cents" on this: I think i have watch a show
featuring India's IT pioneer of something related to this. ( I forgot if
it's on Convergence(NET 25), BBC World or Channel News Asia) the focus on
technology is on weather forecasts and market value of crops and fisheries
products. To at least minimize middle-men who make farmers and fisher folks
products. With computer/software and satellite receiver (microwave antennas)
plus solar power technology. I think you guys get the "picture". Minor
setback is funding of course if we could have a company sponsor it and laid
out the details for them to profit a little plus community service
advertisements of sorts for them. If we could get the government on this but
they(government) is too slow. Sorry I don't have much time so I couldn't
volunteer on this.
