Ubuntu Founder and Chairman Mark Shuttleworth is scheduled to visit
Manila on February 2, 2006 to meet with representatives from business,
academe, government, and local Linux advocates. The visit is part of
Shuttleworth's Asia Business Tour for the Ubuntu Foundation and
Canonical.

Shuttleworth will meet with government departments/officials who are
involved with proposing and implementing OSS solutions. They will
also meet with major system builders, OEMs, and other vendors with an
eye to providing them with Ubuntu as distribution for their customers.

The visit begins with a business breakfast meeting at the Peninsula
Hotel Manila in Makati from 8:00am to 11:00am. Shuttleworth will give
a presentation on Ubuntu, its future directions, and areas of growth
and opportunity in the Philippines.

Late in the afternoon, Shuttleworth will meet with officials of the
Commission on Information and Communications Technology in Diliman.
Representatives from NGOs will also be present.
