Magandang araw mga kasama sa Ubuntu-PH at sa Debian-TL,
For purposes of team focus, I recommend that the team priority for
translation be the two biggest and highest profile applications which
also happen to be easiest to translate for on Rosetta. Debian-TL and
UBUNTU-PH can participate here. The resulting output will most
certainly make it to other distributions.
Which applications are these?
Why, OpenOffice.org Writer and Mozilla Firefox, of course!
One of the advantages to working on translating in Rosetta for these
is that the web-based interface provides an easy means for all team
members to contribute to the translation in progress. These
applications also have a different methodology for localization than
the usual GNU gettext mechanism, which is the preferred mode for most
translations. Besides these, working together on these high profile
applications of large message catalogs will help the teams feel a
sense of unity of purpose.
To participate, simply log in to launchpad.net, go to the launchpad
home, click on Translate now!/The OpenOffice.org Suite/ooo-writer
Please invest in a Filipino/Tagalog-English dictionary to help you in
translating.
Use informal tone, but not too casual mode. Mark your translations as
"Someone should review this translation".
Discuss any problems in translating in the DEBIAN-TL mailing list please,
to reduce the clutter on the UBUNTU-PH list.
