It looks like this has been resolved since Ubuntu Cosmic so I'm marking
it fix-released

Title:
Not packaged to support python3
Status in networking-hyperv package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
Upstream supports python3 (See PKG-INFO), but python3 support is not
included in the packaging. Adding python3 packaging is trivial,
particularly since this had to go through New anyway. Please fix this
package and in the future, when packaging new python things, if
upstream supports python3, include packaging for python3.
