[ubuntu-nz] ubuntu-nz Digest, Vol 32, Issue 6

Hi All,
	I updated to 10.04 as soon as it came out, have had no noticeable issue
with it until tonight when I got a call from a mate who I encouraged to
convert to Ubuntu from windows... had usual teething problems when
people join our world from the darkside...but he generally happy with
10.04
 
He is trying to watch a DVD which he brought and which has run happily
in the past on win XP but doesn't run on 10.04... I got him to run the
"sudo apt-get ubuntu-restricted-extras" script as in the past it
normally sorts the issue but this time no joy.. 

so I grabbed one of my DVD's which I have run on 9.10 with out any
issues and got an "An error occurred Could not read from resource."

 I have just tried
 "sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly
gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-multiverse gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad
gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-multiverse" 

with no success

So does anyone have any idea what has changed in 10.04 and or what
script to run to sort the issue?

yeap DVD's are all store brought and DVD works on the same DVD player
when the PC is booted in XP..
