[ubuntu-np] Query regarding Ubuntu by new member

i too had a similar problem with cq40...but could finally resolv it. so for
wifi to work u should first connect you laptop to the internet through
lan.after getting connected to the internet through lan goto:
system>administration>synaptic package manager
now search for b43-fwcutter and select it and mark for installation.this
package is driver for broadcomm wifi of bcm43xx series. cq40 generally have
BCM43xx wifi adapters.
after marking b43-fwcutter for installation select apply from the top of the
window. it will then download and install necessary drivers using internet
through lan. after successfull completion u can continue using wifi in
ubuntu.
