Adam Conrad announces that Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal) will be
retired on 16th May, 2014 after a support cycle which was slightly
extended to overlap with the release of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. Adam informs
us of the supported upgrade path and links to the upgrade instructions
and caveats.

Daniel Holbach appeals for nominations of Ubuntu Members to serve on the
Ubuntu Membership board. Daniel outlines the requirements needed, tells
us how nominations can be submitted, and advises that nominations will
be accepted until 1200 UTC on May 12th.

On behalf of the Ubuntu Membership Board, Javier Lopez welcomes two new
Ubuntu Members, Alejandro Esperon and John S. Gruber.

 * Alejandro Esperon is part of the Ubuntu Community Council
Uruguay,he's been involved with its local team in promoting Ubuntu and
has participated actively in the UbuConLa.

 * John S. Gruber is the current maintainer of Lernid and avid tester
and programmer who likes fixing bugs in Ubuntu. He has also been a
crucial contributor to Ask Ubuntu in the early days.
