I have the same Tuner card and have used it with various versions of Ubuntu
and MythTV. I have not had a problem in over a year or two. I have a Q9400
Quad Core processor with 4Gb ram and an Nvidia 9800GTX+ video card
outputting to a 50" Sony HDTV at 1920x1080 res. I have installed MythTV many
times and there is only one or two quirks I have had to deal with in the
configuration. I go to the Front End configuration, first, and set the Color
Scheme and make it Windowsed, because the default scheme is too dark and the
bottom of the GUI is out of view. The second thing is the Capture Card. I
have to choose IVTV Mpeg2 and /dev/video0. When I initially choose IVTV,
/dev/video0 does not appear and Failed appears instead. I have to switch
back and forth between capture cards before it will appear correctly.
Scanning for Channels seems to freeze on me so I do not do that. I use
Schedules Direct, but I have gone without it at times and never had a
problem except the Program Guide was empty.

Other than that, I have had no problems. If you want to compare settings,
email me back. I am using UE 2.6 at the moment which is Ubuntu 10.04. I have
Time Warner Cable Rochester, NY.
