You can start your contribution in various parts which is:
1. Marketing - tell your friends, family and other people about your new
experience in ubuntu. you can also use blog, social media, face 2 face,
join & help us at events.
2. Documentation - you can help in writing documentation about how to use
ubuntu based on your experience & readings
3. Translations - You can help in translating Ubuntu to other language you
know. As for malaysian, we do translate Ubuntu to Bahasa Malaysia
4. Packaging - if you think you are good in linux commands & scripts, you
can try to help in packaging apps in ubuntu
5. Bugs reports - if you encounter problem in your ubuntu, you can help us
by submit a bug report.
6. Questions & Answers - you can help by asking & answering questions
related to ubuntu.
7. IRC Suppot - if you have more time on internet, you may help us in
#ubuntu-my IRC channel to answer questions by new user
8. Forum support - if you prefer to help in forum, head on to
http://forums.ubuntu.com.my and help there.
9. LoCo Team - There is some works in Local Community Team to get us moving
like meeting, reports, announcements, wiki, docs, events and so on. Join us
and you may help in whatever you an do best.
