Stability of Firefox 3.01 on Ubuntu 8.04

Your co-worker might be right. To test that you can try the "free"
nvidia driver. Maybe it works better.

The other two causes for crashes are usually:

 1. extensions (try to disable _all_ that you installed on your own)
 2. plugins (adobe flash is a good candidate here).
