In any case, it's good to know that the command line I suggested seems to work around the problem.
Just to confirm, if you run it with:

    MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=0 snap run firefox

you get the black screen again?

For GPU info, you could attach the output of `sudo lshw -C display`.
