[Bug 1177092] [NEW] thunderbird crashes/stall x-server

Public bug reported:

4 GB RAM, dual core CPU, Lubuntu 13.04. Starting thunderbird sometimes
crashes/stalls x-server and completely freezes CPU. Have to restart with
on/off button.
