[Bug 1215524] [NEW] Thunderbird deletes messages rather than move them to Deleted

Public bug reported:

On Ubuntu Precise 64 bit using Thunderbird v17.0.8, deleting a message
(on Gmail account using IMAP) from Inbox, the message is not moved to
the Deleted folder but is removed completely.
