Some extension may be causing the freezes that you observer. Try
disabling the extensions that you have one by one and see if the freezes
stop.

Your specific Firefox profile may be also the problem. To try a new
profile without loosing your current profile (and all your bookmarks
etc), open the profile manager by clicking ALF F2 and entering "firefox
--noremote -P". Create a profile with a new name but don't erase your
"default" profile. Then choose the new profile and click "Start Firefox"
to try the new profile and see if the freeze persists.

It you still see the freezes with no extensions enabled and with the new
profile try to provide a step by step description on how to reproduce it
to help the developers in identifying the problem.
