    1) In a terminal please type the following command and post the
output.

    uname -a & lsb_release -a

    uname -a:
    Linux ddreamer 2.6.32-25-generic #44-Ubuntu SMP Fri Sep 17 20:05:27 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux

    lsb_release -a:
    No LSB modules are available.
    Distributor ID: Ubuntu
    Description: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
    Release: 10.04
    Codename: lucid

    2) Do you have "Remember Search and Form history" enabled? How about
    cookies enabled?

Did you mean Menu/Edit/Preferences, Privacy Tab ?
The "Keep all history record" was selected.

Of course, in the Menu/Edit/Preferences, Security Tab: "Remember the
password for each website" was selected and the content of "Exception
Websites" button just following the checkbox of "Remember the password
for each website" is emptied.

    P.S.
The "Username" and "Password" were remembered well in http://www.gmail.com/
Because my Firefox was "Chinese" version, the content in the quotation marks translated by myself arbitrarily may not be exactly the same as English version of Firefox. However, I try to keep as much meaning as possible.
