Please try a mozilla.org binary build (not an ubuntu one) and test in the Firefox safemode http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

The page design fails when the user's preferred font is slightly larger
than what the page author expected. Try for example setting
"View->Zoom->Zoom text only" and then zoom to make the text smaller.
That fixes the overlap. Choosing a very small preferred font size
in Preferences also works.

Why the windows binary doesn't have this problem?
