Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

I use thunderbird autoconfig feature to pre-configure thunderbird in a corporate environnement for about 300 computers
(see https://developer.mozilla.org/en/MCD for details).
For Autoconfig to work, I use the general.config.filename preference in /etc/thunderbird/pref/all-custom.js like this:
pref('general.config.filename' , 'thunderbird.cfg');
The problem is that this file (thunderbird.cfg) MUST BE in the root directory /usr/lib/thunderbird-<version>.
In Ubuntu 10.04, the root directory for thunderbird-3.0.4 is /usr/lib/thunderbird-3.0.4. After updating to thunderbird-3.0.5, the root directory is now /usr/lib/thunderbird-3.0.5 but my file "thunderbird.cfg" is still in /usr/lib/thunderbird-3.0.4 !
This prevents thunderbird from getting started whith an error message saying it cannot find the configuration file.
Is it possible to have a single root directory (/usr/lib/thunderbird-3.0) for all versions of thunderbird-3.0 ?

** Affects: thunderbird (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
