I also hoped that this package would solve my problem. I cannot directly
access network shares but have to use ~/.gvfs/ to add or save an
attachment on a samba share.

Does anyone know if this is a thunderbird bug or an Ubuntu bug? Even
though quite a lot of people seem to have this problem noone has come up
with a solution yet.
